I've spoken in a previous post about my Grandma and how skilled she was at crafts and baking.
A few weeks ago my Mum passed on to me a quilt that my Grandma had made. It's beautiful, I absolutely love it. The patchwork style is called Cathedral Squares and it looks a little like Japanese origami.
Sadly it has sat in a plastic bag for the past 10 years and I don't remember ever seeing it before.
Now I have custody of this hand stitched patchwork quilt I have to decide what to do with it.
Initially I thought about getting a backing put on and finishing off the unfinished squares to make the quilt usable. Now I'm leaning toward having it framed.
I really love all the scrap materials used and each time I look at it, another piece jumps out at me. I don't even mind the blank squares... it's like a work in progress.
Still trying to figure out exactly what to do. It is about 80cm wide and 190cm long so it's mid sized. Probably for a cot.
Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?
