Knitting has often been connected to the process of Mindfulness.
The process of knitting as meditation. Doing something deliberately, slowly, with purpose makes a lovely change to staring at a screen and scrolling!
The new Aussie Yarn knit kits projects continue with the mindfulness concept. However, it now extends to the yarns and even the packaging.
The yarns are sourced from small Australian farms who care for their animals and operate in a sustainable manner. The yarns are processed as carefully and organically as possible. (Yarn from Tarndie - see video above, is used in one of my Aussie Knit kits)
The project bag, which is part of the kit, as well as the packaging material are from a company called Better Packaging.
Better Packaging has created a range of Compostable products to replace the plastic shipping products most commonly used.
The comPOST Packs which are made from 100% biodegradable and compostable materials –reducing plastics in the environment and recycling plant-based products.
So much less waste and a caring approach to packaging.
Don’t forget to add them your compost bin, re-use the bags, or find a communal compost bin.
The project bags we are using for your kits are also compostable – Primarily made from Corn starch and once you’ve used the bag, they can be added to your worm farm or compost and returned to the earth.
