The Art of Channing Hansen has recently been bought to my attention.
I'm loving every element of this work.
His grass roots sourcing of product - "Hansen uses fiber mostly derived from “conservation breeds” of sheep, as well as synthetic materials. He cleans, dyes, spins and sometimes shears the wool that he knits into organic, often unwieldy, forms stretched over virtually bare wooden stretchers."
The subject is derived from his intense interest in DNA and mathematics. He created an algorithm which has dictated the design and even colours of the knits.
If I could jump on a plane to New York to see this, I would!
